THE JOB
You will be the sole underwriter for a particular Australian state, forming relationships with brokers as you underwrite a mixture of 2/3rd's commercial property/ISR risks and 1/3rd liability risks. You will be underwriting asset values up to $150 million in this mid-market underwriting role.

Responsibilities for the successful individual include:

• Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements
• Risk management and detailed risk review and selection
• Support claims teams and underwriters by acting as a product referral point
• Assist in the management of underwriting agencies and schemes held by the department
• Effective communication with brokers and agents
• Maintain efficient documentation turnaround

The ideal candidate will have:

• Ideally 3 years plus underwriting experience
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
• Capability of identifying new business opportunities as they arise
• Commitment to customer service
• Ability to work under pressure and meet company deadlines
