Summary

In this position you will be responsible for moderately complex design and construction of Trackwork for major capital improvement projects as well as review of consultant's track design. Performs Trackwork design computations and analysis. Prepares reports, special studies, construction plans and specifications, as required. Assists interaction with other staff members and relevant departments.

Responsibilities:

• Performs and reviews the design and installation of track.
• Monitors assigned trackwork related construction activities and any other civil construction contracts assigned.
• Performs and prepares trackwork and alignment design
• Establishes trackwork design concepts and elements of design criteria
• Performs, reviews and evaluates consultant's Trackwork and civil designs to ensure adequacy and completeness verifying that they meet the necessary fabrication, construction, operation, safety, maintenance and economic requirements.
• Coordinates trackwork design efforts with civil, systems and structural engineering.

Experience:

• Working knowledge of civil, track, railroad and transportation engineering principles including horizontal and vertical engineering principles.
• good written and verbal communication
• 5 years experience working on Permanent Way projects.
• Degree in Engineering is essential.
