Our client, located in the Northern Suburbs is a leading provider in their field specialising in IBCs and portable tanks in stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminium, with composite and synthetic construction. Servicing the needs of the Beverage, Chemical, Food, Industrial, Mining, Offshore, Petroleum and Process Industries throughout Australia, Asia, Africa and the Pacific Region. This Australian owned company designs and manufactures including a large volume of made-to-order product.

Due to unprecedented growth there is an opening for a full time permanent Design/Draftsperson to join this dynamic business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make this role their own, be influential in the process from concept to final production and be appreciated for their contribution to the business. Collaborating with engineering, sales and production departments this role is definitely hands on.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ad-Hoc concept 2D specs through to 4D final plan
• Research industry relevant compliance
• Supporting the sales team with some face-to-face client consultation
• Active participation in estimation and quoting process
• Participate and contribute in the production phase
• Implementation, tracking and management of in-house drawing library

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Proven experience in a drafting position
• Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment and/or civil or mechanical engineering degree
• Ability to conceptualise effectively
• Flexibility to grow and adapt with change
• Ability to prioritise and communicate deadlines to co-workers
• Determine and prioritise time V. value to the business
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and or Solidworks
• Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering
• Advanced analytical skills
• Strong business acumen
• Excellent written and verbal communication
