Vehicle Safety Engineer (CAE & Development)

Key Roles:
Engineer and deliver vehicle safety performance for future vehicles for a given safety sub-attribute (e.g. frontal impact, side impact, pedestrian safety, or occupant protection).
Conduct market specific competitor benchmarking, and create subsystem performance targets, conduct CAE based crash/occupant analysis and collaborative issue resolution, plan and conduct component and vehicle level crash safety verification testing.

Key Responsibilities:
Set targets based on public domain, regulatory, and internal performance requirements.
Ensure Safety needs are integrated into designs by upfront work with CAD and Design team.
Conduct CAE analysis for a given sub-attribute, identify and report performance issues.
Resolve performance issues identified by CAE and physical testing through collaborative work with other Attributes, CAD, and Design teams.
Plan and supervise physical testing to verify design performance to targets.

To be successful for this position, you will have:
A Bachelor Engineering degree or equivalent with relevant experiences
Prior experience with full vehicle CAE simulation using LS-DYNA.
Excellent team, communication, root cause and problem solving skills.
Strong knowledge of FE explicit solvers such as LS-DYNA, RADIOSS, PAMCRASH.
Strong knowledge of safety regulatory and public domain requirements.
Knowledge of material selection, tooling, design and manufacturing of body and restraints.
Knowledge of full vehicle and component test procedures.
Prior experience with occupant and restraint simulation using MADYMO and/or LS-DYNA.
Prior experience conducting full vehicle testing including dummies to EuroNCAP, ANCAP, IIHS, CNCAP, or USNCAP requirements.
