Our client has been been established in the Melbourne construction market for over 20 years and delivered a number of impressive apartment projects within that time. After a period of stability in the last 2 years they are now ramping back up and in the new year will have major developments on the ground whilst tendering on new projects. With the above in mind they are now looking to recruit an experienced foreman who will oversee the façade/cladding installation on a +$100m apartment project within the CBD.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conducting site inductions for staff and sub-contractors.
- Managing the sub-contractors to ensure they are fulfilling their roles and responsibilities, monitoring their performance daily in regards to safety, quality and programme and report deficiencies to the Site Manager.
- Assisting the Site Manager in the commissioning and handover of the project by ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and provided to the Project Manager.
- Managing cost control for certain aspects of the project, as directed by the Site Manager, in order to ensure the project meets its required performance targets in relation to budget.
- Ensure compliance with the clients Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Maintain positive industrial relations with authorities and unions, resolving any issues in accordance with the client’s guidelines.
To be considered for this position you will require:
- A high level of building knowledge, in particular façade and cladding
- Good man-management skills with the ability to motivate and drive both direct and sub-contract labour
- Track record of managing the façade and cladding package on large apartment projects
- Highly skilled in OH&S and IR
- Client-focused approach
